Every design begins on paper at the cutting table. We draft the neckline to within a millimetre of the wearer.

“A choker is a private sentence worn in public.”
“We don’t make jewellery. We make the first thing someone notices — and the last thing they understand.”
— Amélie Vaugirard · Founder
A short history
Founder Amélie Vaugirard opens a private atelier on Rue des Petits Champs. The first piece — a single ribbon of Lyon velvet — sells the same afternoon to a stranger at a nearby café.
Our signature sculpted collar in sterling and Michoacán obsidian appears in AnOther. Maison Choker is archived at the Palais Galliera.
A second address — by appointment only — opens on Crosby Street. Bespoke consultations triple in a season.
Our most private commission series. Ten pieces a year, each with a paper dossier of sketches and a signed numeric plaque. Register-only.
After fourteen years of paper catalogues, the Maison opens its digital salon. Same hands. Same small batches. The register continues.
Craft
Nothing we make is touched by fewer than six people. It is the only way we know to guarantee that you can feel the intention, not just see it.
Every design begins on paper at the cutting table. We draft the neckline to within a millimetre of the wearer.
Velvet is hand-cut with a bone blade against the pile — a technique borrowed from 19th century couture.
Silk thread, fourteen stitches per centimetre, finished on the reverse. The piece is as considered inside as out.
Hardware is cast by our partner atelier in the 11e — recycled 14k rose gold and 925 silver, nothing else.
Stones are seated by hand — no adhesive, only claw and pressure. Obsidian, onyx, black spinel.
A numbered plaque is hand-stamped and sewn into the reverse. We keep the register for generations.
Our promise
